EducationUSA University Fair Draws Record Crowds


EducationUSA Nepal hosted the twelfth EducationUSA South Asia Tour from January 29-February 4, 2018, held concurrently with the EducationUSA Regional Forum, January 31-February 4. The events culminated in the largest ever EducationUSA University Fair in Nepal, held at the Yak & Yeti Hotel on Saturday, February 3, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Fair featured 67 U.S. universities, 4 testing agencies (ACT, ETS, and IELTS) and higher education association (The Association of Boarding Schools), and 4 local institutions (USEF-Nepal/ EducationUSA, U.S. Embassy, American Spaces, and Alumni.  

A total of 2,132 students attended the Fair. Concurrent with the Fair, 923 students attended five student visa presentations by the Consular Section, and 350 students attended four 5-Steps to Study in the USA presentations by regional EducationUSA Advisers.

The EAC was assisted by regional SCA colleagues who provided coverage of registration, entry, circulation, HEI backup, presentation rooms, and crowd control duties in two shifts. Regional colleagues and EducationUSA officials from Washington, DC, were impressed by student turnout and level of preparedness.
