Refreshments and networking from 4:00 to 4:30pm
Talk program from 4:30 pm onwards
Now more than ever, Nepalis are choosing to study at overseas colleges and universities. Studying abroad can offer many exciting opportunities: to dive deep into a subject of one’s passion, to refine your English and maybe pick up some other language, to make friends from around the world, to live in a society that organizes daily life very differently, to explore career options, and to both appreciate and newly question the assumptions of one’s home culture. But many challenges also exist: how to pick the right school, how to navigate the overwhelming number of classes and programs, how to succeed academically, how to prosper socially, how to learn outside the classroom, and how to bring home and share the benefits of overseas study.
This discussion will feature a diverse panel of Nepalis who have recently completed Undergraduate or Master’s level study at a variety of US colleges and universities. Speakers will offer stories from their own experiences as well as a few photographs. Discussion will include questions from the audience.
