Fulbright ForumLongitudinal risk factors and outcomes associated with blood pressure metrics in Nepal

The Fulbright Commission and Fulbright Alumni Association of Nepal (FAAN) are delighted to host the Fulbright Forum on Wednesday, September 28 from 1 PM to 2:30 PM.

This forum will feature Christina Park– a 2021-2022 Fulbright-Fogarty Fellowships in Public Health grantee- who will present her research on “Longitudinal risk factors and outcomes associated with blood pressure metrics in Nepal”. Christina’s research focuses on addressing the gaps in knowledge of risk factors and outcomes related to hypertension in Nepal by analyzing data from the ongoing, longitudinal Dhulikhel Heart Study (DHS).

Christina is a doctoral student in the School of Public Health’s Department of Epidemiology at University of Washington. She was under the mentorship of Dr. Archana Shrestha, and Dr. Biraj M. Karmacharya, who are faculty at Kathmandu University School of Medical Sciences (KUSMS).

Dr. Archana Shrestha, also a Fulbright grantee at the University of Washington in 2010, will provide insight about KUSMS’s collaborative efforts with Christina and the ongoing DHS.
