| | The month of May was marked by numerous programs and events conducted at the Commission and other locations. We engaged with our alumni through networking opportunities and involvement in a variety of programs such as pre-departure orientations for current grantees departing for the U.S. and information sessions. We have also continued our Fulbright Forums and workshops in collaboration with current Fulbrighters in Nepal. EdUSA conducts weekly Student Advising sessions (virtual and in person) and is also facilitating specialized sessions on a variety of topics each month. A new session called ‘Get to Know your Major’ has also been initiated where students can speak to experts in their interested fields of study and receive advice on university applications, courses and more. We hope to see you at one of our events! |

The workshop was held in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month in May. Overall, the 67 participants found the workshop invigorating and felt better equipped to tackle any challenges they might encounter. |

| | Alumni HighlightsBibas Thapa |
| 2022-23 Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement program (TEA) recipient Bibas Thapa successfully connected Tasir English Secondary Boarding School with the Irvington Union Free School District. His students and coworkers received an opportunity to virtually tour the school and engaged in an exciting game of mystery Skype where they used yes-or-no questions to determine each other's locations. The Irvington school children offered an exciting demonstration of their State and sang for the Nepalese students who performed a traditional Nepali dance and gave an engaging presentation on the rich cultural legacy of our country. Bibas Thapa is a highly experienced secondary-level teacher of English and social studies at Shree Baljagriti Yuwa Barsha Secondary School in Hetauda. He participated in the Fulbright TEA program at the University of North Carolina in the U.S. He has been primarily focusing on incorporating Information and Communication Technology into English language classrooms in Nepal. |
