Message From The Commission

As the festival season comes to an end, we look forward to meeting you in person or virtually as we conduct a variety of different programs and events in November. Check out the Events section below.

Congratulations! Fulbright Scholar Mohan Bahadur Dangi for receiving the Global Achievement Award by the Johns Hopkins Alumni Association.

Mr. Dangi is an environmental engineer and professor in the Department of Geography and City & Regional Planning at California State University (CSU), Fresno with a specialization in technical and social aspects of solid waste management (SWM) and engineering. He earned his Ph.D. and MS in Geography and Environmental Engineering from the Johns Hopkins University. He is known best for his research on the management of municipal solid waste in low-income countries. He has successfully tested a combination of engineering and social science approaches to tackle a four-decade-long, ineffective endeavor in SWM in Kathmandu, Nepal.

For his seven months long Fulbright Teaching/Research grant, Mr. Dangi is collaborating with Tribhuvan University’s Central Department of Environmental Studies to design an Environmental Engineering course and to research the lifecycle of municipal solid waste management in Kathmandu.

EducationUSA Advising Center is looking forward to International Education Week (IEW), November 14-18, 2022. IEW is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. This month we have series of events lined up for you in collaboration with the alums from various U.S. institutions, CollegeBoard, ETS-TOEFL, the U.S. Embassy in Nepal, and U.S. higher institutions. Some of these events will be in-person at the center and some online. Please stay tuned to our announcements on our social media handles. Join us to celebrate IEW 2022 with us!
