Our amazing 2022-23 cohort of Fulbright Student Researchers has arrived in Nepal. They will be investigating pertinent issues such as climate change, migration, and disaster risk reduction during their 10 months here. Claudia Krisko is conducting research on the rising air pollution levels in Dhangadi, Godawari, and Chure. Nicole McCloskey is investigating the push and pull factors, environmental stressors, and political and societal changes that occur as climate migration takes place. Both researchers are affiliated with the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD). Rachael Lau, affiliated with the National Society for Earthquake Technology (NSET), will be developing a framework for a multi-geo-hazard early warning system in Kathmandu. Jenna Biedscheid, in collaboration with the Law and Policy Forum of Social Justice (LAPSOJ), will research the lived experiences of Nepali Third Country Nationals on U.S. Military Bases.
