Pre-Academic Training

ECA provides funding for pre-academic programs, an integral component of the FFSP. Pre-academic training provides courses, workshops, special topic sessions and enrichment activities that aim to prepare Fulbrighters academically, linguistically, and culturally for their graduate studies in the U.S.

Program content includes:

• Advanced oral and written communication courses
• Intro to U.S. graduate school life/culture
• Intro to cultural awareness & U.S. culture
• Intro to Fulbright program, goals, student responsibilities
• Opportunity to develop Fulbright identity & grow network

Pre-academic programs take place immediately before grantees begin their academic programs. The programming includes intensive English instruction and orientation to U.S. society, culture and institutions of higher education. During the Pre-Academic Program Fulbrighters are also introduced to the Fulbright community, as well as the benefits and responsibilities of their Fulbright grants.

All pre-academic program expenses are covered.
