Funding and Support

Fulbright Specialist projects are funded through a combination of U.S. government support and host institution contributions:

• U.S. Government Support Includes:
  • Roundtrip, economy-class international airfare
  • Enrollment in a limited health benefits plan
  • A daily honorarium for the Fulbright Specialist
• Host Institution Contributions Include:
  • Lodging, meals, and in-country transportation for the Specialist, provided either as monetary or in-kind contributions
  • Transportation allowances to cover travel between lodging and project sites, as well as basic local activities such as grocery shopping or visiting a local market or pharmacy
