| The Commission for Educational Exchange between the United States and Nepal (also known as “the Fulbright Commission” or “USEF-Nepal”) was established in 1961 by executive agreement between the governments of Nepal and the United States and has operated continuously since that time. A binational body, USEF-Nepal is governed by a Board of Directors composed of five Nepalis appointed by the Government of Nepal and five Americans appointed by the U.S. Ambassador. On December 3-4, Board members and staff met to take stock of current programs and chart priorities for the coming years. Together, we identified five key objectives: 1) increase diversity, 2) enrich participant experience, 3) foster partnerships, 4) broaden and strengthen our network of support, and 5) drive operational excellence. The orientation and outreach activities described in this month’s newsletter are critical to the first two objectives. Expect to see more and better programs like these in the months ahead! |
