The Fulbright Specialist Program empowers host institutions to design projects that address their unique priorities while maintaining a focus on education or training. Given the short-term nature of the exchange, proposed projects should have well-defined, achievable objectives that can be completed during the Specialist’s visit.
Specialists have previously supported host institutions through activities such as:
Personal research projects, including clinical medical research or initiatives involving patient contact, are not eligible for funding under the Fulbright Specialist Program.
Project Duration: Each project must be a minimum of 14 days and a maximum of 42 days, including travel days and weekends.
Project Timeline: The time for approval of project from the date of submission of application may take up to 9 weeks. Project implementation dates depend on the application cycle. Please see the note mentioned in the call.
Location: Projects are limited to one country, and all activities must take place in Nepal.
Specialist Allocation: Each project is restricted to one Fulbright Specialist grantee.
If a host institution would benefit from having a Fulbright Specialist make multiple visits, a Multi-Visit project may be proposed. However, Multi-Visit projects are rare and require a strong justification demonstrating how multiple visits would enhance project outcomes.
